Homework will begin on the second or third week of school. You will find a
hard copy of your child's First Grade Homework glued on a page in the
Agenda.
E.S.L parents, please check your child's agenda for their E.S.L. (English as
a Second Language) homework. Spanish and S.S.L. (Spanish as a Second Language) teachers also include their homework in the agenda.
Your first grader should be engaged in 10-15 minutes of pleasurable reading
each day. This includes your child reading to you, you reading to your child
and/or shared reading.
Have your child practice their Spelling Words and No Excuse Words by joining Gigi Giraffe and Ed Elephant at Kids' Safari located on the navigation menu on
the left! You may print a list with all the Spelling Words and No Excuse Words
by clicking on the corresponding button at the bottom of this page.
Towards the beginning of the Second Quarter, we will begin to practice our
Math Facts. Please have your child practice a little each day. Your child may
do so by joining Mimi and Momo Monkey at Kids' Safari. We will have a short
Math Facts Timed Test every Friday. You may also print a list with all the
Math Facts by clicking on the Math Facts button at the bottom of this page.
